Michele Sims Exposes Kevin Arocha’s Failure to Vote on Cityhood in New Ad
MULBERRY, GA - Michele Sims has just unveiled a hard-hitting new ad that asks an important question: where was Kevin Arocha when it mattered most?
In May, nearly 8,000 residents of Mulberry made their voices heard on whether or not to create the City of Mulberry. It was one of the most important decisions in our community’s history, shaping the future of the area for generations. But despite the weight of the moment, per the Secretary of State’s Office, Kevin Arocha, a candidate for City Council, didn’t even bother to vote.
The new ad lays it out clearly: “Nearly 8,000 residents showed up in May to decide whether or not the City of Mulberry should be created. Kevin Arocha was not one of them. If Kevin can’t show up for that, why should we show up for him?”
What makes this more troubling is that Arocha has publicly criticized Michele for voting “No” on the city charter, but what he hasn’t told voters is that he didn’t show up to cast a vote at all. He’s attacking Michele for taking a stand while hiding the fact that he couldn’t even be bothered to take part in the process.
Michele’s decision to vote “No” wasn’t because she was opposed to the idea of Mulberry becoming a city—it was because she felt the community needed more time to understand the long-term implications of such a decision. Her vote was about ensuring the residents of Mulberry had all the information they needed to make an informed choice.
But while Michele and the rest of the community showed up for the big vote, Kevin Arocha was nowhere to be found. If he can’t be counted on to show up for something this important, can we really expect him to show up when it’s time to cast votes in City Council?
Mulberry deserves leaders who are engaged, informed, and ready to make the tough decisions that will shape the future of our city. Michele Sims has always shown up for our community, and she will continue to do so on City Council.
Stay tuned for more updates, and remember—Michele Sims will always fight for you, whether you voted yes or no. Will Kevin Arocha even show up to fight for you?
