Introducing the SAFE Rubric for Responsible Development

Michele is committed to ensuring that any new development in our community aligns with our values and meets our needs. That’s why she developed the SAFE Rubric—a simple, yet effective tool to guide decisions on rezoning and development projects

SAFE stands for Spirit & Landscape, Addressing Community Need, Fit within Infrastructure, and Expressed Community Objection. This rubric ensures that every project is carefully evaluated based on whether it preserves the character of our city, meets actual community needs, fits within our existing infrastructure, and respects the voices of our residents. If a project fails to meet these criteria, Michele will vote No.

With the SAFE Rubric, Michele is committed to protecting what makes our community special while supporting responsible growth that benefits everyone.

  • Does the project maintain the spirit and landscape of our city?

If it disrupts the character or aesthetic of our community, the answer is NO.

  • Does the project address a community need that isn’t currently met or that requires more competition?

If it doesn’t serve a clear and present need, the answer is NO.

  • Would the development fit within the city’s existing infrastructure?

If it places undue strain on our roads, utilities, or services, the answer is NO.

  • Is there reasonable community objection to the project?

If the community has significant, reasonable concerns, the answer is NO.

On the Issues

  • Keep Mulberry Safe

As a prosecutor, Michele has made public safety a priority throughout her career - committing herself to upholding Georgia Law and bringing violent criminals to justice.

As a councilwoman, Michele will keep that priority and ensure that the City of Mulberry never becomes a safe haven for criminals and remains a safe place for Georgians to live, work, and raise a family.

  • Keep Mulberry A Hometown

Out-of-control growth serves no one. It leads to regular traffic-jams, increased crime and traffic fatalities, and over-crowded classrooms. This does nothing to promote the safety and well-being of families, champion local small businesses, or improve learning outcomes for our children.

Michele is committed to a carefully-managed and partnership approach to growth in the City of Mulberry, by ensuring homeowners, property and small business owners, always have a voice in what the future looks like for our hometown.

  • Keep Mulberry Fiscally Responsible

There will be NO new taxes in the City of Mulberry.

This requires our council members to be fiscally responsible in every decision made.

Michele will only vote for balanced budgets with a focus on responsible spending - ensuring that the council works as good stewards of the funding received.
